Terms & Conditions

Version 2026-07-12-v3 | Effective July 12, 2026

These are the terms between you and Datost Inc., doing business as ED1TH, for this website and the refundable reservation deposit. We wrote them in plain language on purpose: if a clause needs a law degree to decode, it probably should not bind you. Final purchase may include additional checkout details, but those details will not remove the commitments published here.

1. The agreement

Using ed1th.com or placing a reservation forms an agreement between you and Datost Inc., d/b/a ED1TH ("ED1TH", "we", "us"). If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the site or place a reservation. Questions can go to hello@ed1th.com.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to place a reservation.

2. Reservations & refunds

A reservation is a $50 USD deposit that holds your place in the production queue. It is fully refundable any time before your pair ships. Email hello@ed1th.com from the checkout address to request it; Stripe returns the money to the original payment method.

The launch price is $500 USD, with your deposit credited against it. AI features require a subscription, priced before you confirm the purchase. Shipping timing, applicable taxes, and shipping charges will also be disclosed before final purchase. The deposit never commits you to the final purchase or a subscription.

Queue order is based on confirmed payment time, with a stable tie-break when payments land in the same second. One active reservation is allowed per normalized email address; a later duplicate payment is queued for return to its original payment method. If Stripe cannot complete that return automatically, payment support reconciles it. Fulfillment dates can still move with production reality. Deposits do not accrue interest and are not investments.

3. The hardware

ED1TH is a 25-gram pair of AI AR glasses: a 640x480 display, microphones, and deliberately zero cameras — no speakers either. Published specifications are targets and may be refined through final optical calibration; we will tell you before any change that matters.

Prescription lenses are configured at final checkout for an additional $150 and fulfilled by our optical partners. Your prescription is used to grind glass, not to build a profile. See the Privacy Policy.

Do not use the display while driving, cycling, or operating anything with a blade. The glasses whisper directions; they do not absolve physics.

4. ED1TH-OS & subscription

The reservation does not activate or bind you to a subscription. When you buy and activate a pair, ED1TH-OS and its AI features are licensed to you, not sold: a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to run them on your pair. Some capabilities, including mail triage, calendar, live translation, and navigation, require an active subscription and an internet connection through your phone.

You can cancel the subscription whenever you like; the glasses remain glasses — display, timers, and every offline feature keep working. We do not brick hardware over a lapsed plan.

We update ED1TH-OS over the air. Updates may add, change, or retire features; anything retired gets a changelog entry written by a human.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use ED1TH to break the law, to harass people, or to attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or resell the models that run on it. Do not probe, scan, or disrupt our services. Security research is welcome under coordinated disclosure: security@ed1th.com.

There is no camera, so there is no recording-etiquette section.

6. Intellectual property

The ED1TH name, wordmark, industrial design, site, and software are ours or our licensors'. What you write, say, or produce while wearing the glasses is yours; we claim no rights over your drafts, your calendar, or your out-loud thoughts.

Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation or attribution.

7. Warranty & disclaimers

Hardware carries a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship — longer where your local law says so. The warranty does not cover sitting on the glasses, swimming with them (IP64 is splashes, not laps), or modifications.

The website and reservation account are provided on an as-available basis. The software is provided "as is." An assistant that drafts your email will occasionally draft it wrong; review anything important before it leaves your outbox. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits a consumer right that cannot legally be limited where you live.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, ED1TH's total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the product is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including a meeting you skipped because the glasses agreed it looked skippable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

9. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go first to a good-faith conversation, then to the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, where both of us consent to jurisdiction.

If any clause of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve. For material changes we will email every reservation holder and post the date at the top of this page at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use ED1TH after that date means you accept the update; if you do not, cancel and we will refund any unshipped deposit.
